We are always in need of new members to help since we have been experiencing an increasing need.  We are asking for men 21 years or older and/or husband and wife teams.

We currently have 17 active members. We also have some members who help at the St. Vincent De Paul open hand kitchen 26 times a year and some members also help at the Franciscan Shelter House monthly serving meals there.

Meeting Times:
Our Society meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7:00pm in the parish center.

We wish to thank all the members of the parish who contribute with money and staples for our pantry for without your help we could not fulfill these needs.

We need to thank Boy Scout Troop 358 from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for letting us receive their annual Scouting for Food collection in November and Kentucky Harvest who help us when they can stock our pantry.

Purpose:
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent De Paul leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder Fredric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent De Paul.

Organized locally at the Cathedral of the Assumption in 1853, the society’s members witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes making no distinction in those served because in them, members see the face of Christ.

St. Helen’s St. Vincent De Paul was re-chartered on 2/23/77 from a request made at a Holy Name Society meeting by the Pastor Fr. Bernard Spoelker. St. Helen’s mission as part of the Council of Louisville is to help primarily with groceries. We have members who team up to visit the needy when they call the parish office. These members take groceries from our pantry valued at around $25 and a gift card(s) from Kroger's for perishable items. We use parish boundaries as our area of coverage.
